Ever since I was a teen (mid/late 20s now), I’ve never been big on the idea of having kids. Any time I have directly said this, it seems I get one of 2 reactions. Either there is almost an appreciation for taking a stance or a reply that’s something to the effect of: it might change some day. Which is a ridiculous response – of course it might change; so could women who wants kids now. Why is this such a common reaction to women who state they don’t want kids (or state it’s highly unlikely)?
These reactions even happens at my doctor’s appointments. For instance, they try to prescribe me folic acid and steer me away from the 10-year IUD vs. 4 year
